Engineering Researcher José Cuevas participated in II Bioinformatics Congress

The event included the presence of renowned researchers in the fields of genomics, structural bioinformatics and applied programming. Among others, Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) Engineering Researcher, José Cuevas, PhD., presented the module “How to address current issues in the wine industry from the perspective of research and innovation?”. During his presentation, he gave a general overview of the wine industry, and provided information on the CRI’s vision and strategic program.

The objective of the second edition of the Bioinformatics Congress, organized by the Center for Bioinformatics and Molecular Simulation and the School of Bioinformatics Engineering of the University of Talca, was increase knowledge of the extensive multidisciplinary field in which Bioinformatics Engineers currently operate.

The event brought together undergraduate students, graduates and engineering professionals from different disciplines, as well as speakers on a range of topics, who analyzed the main trends and most relevant aspects of bioinformatics in a series of seminars and “fast talks”, which were conducted by academics, experts, students and former students. The topics were freely chosen, and included subjects from “Creativity in daily life” to the “Management of mass biological information”.
