Generation and development of a platform for the detection of multiple virus in grapevines
The Center for Research and Innovation invites you to participate in the seminar “Detection of Multiple Viruses in Grapevines”, in which the results of the study financed by the Foundation for Agricultural Innovation (FIA) and conducted by the School of Biological Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile will be presented.
During the talk, Dr. Patricio Arce Johnson, Full Professor of the PUC, will give a presentation on the simultaneous detection of 15 grapevines viruses (including all of those stipulated by the Agricultural and Livestock Service), the generation of a germplasm bank of grapevines, including rootstock, that are free from viruses, and the results and means of access to detection technologies and sub-products.
Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation was the meeting point for the seminar on “Early warning systems and alarms for frost in the O’Higgins and Maule Regions, analysis of underlying climatic and agricultural factors, and mitigation operations”, which provided relevant information for frost management by grape growers.
The seminar was organized by the Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA), Fundación para la Innovación Agraria (FIA), Vinos de Chile A.G., Dirección Meteorológica de Chile (DMC), and Fundación para el Desarrollo Frutícola (FDF).
